Beschreibung des Angebots

Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) is a postgraduate qualification awarded by universities and corresponds to at least 30 ECTS credits.

The continuous education program Translational Nephrology provides extensive insights into the basics of nephrology by studying the physiological and pathophysiological bases of kidney function in health and disease.

To obtain the DAS in Translational Nephrology of the UZH Unibe, participants have to successfully complete the 6 modules (18 ECTS credits), present a documented and accepted scientific achievement (e.g. a publication in a peer-review journal (8 ECTS credits) or a teaching project based on a case report (3 ECTS credits)) and have obtained 4, respectively 9 additional ECTS credits attributed by the course organization for the active participation (with poster or oral communication) in conferences, retreats or relevant workshops.

Modules:

  • Module 1: Salt, Water and Hypertension
  • Module 2: Acid-base Homeostasis
  • Module 3: Calcium and Phosphate
  • Module 4: Oxygen Signaling and Cancer
  • Module 5: Metabolism and Kidney Function
  • Module 6: Inflammation and Immunology

Each Module lasts about 14 weeks including two 0.5d hybrid face-to-face meetings.

Aufbau der Ausbildung

1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of work.

Voraussetzungen

Zulassung

  • A master degree or equivalent in medicine or life sciences

Target Group

  • National and international graduates with a medical or life science master degree who want to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of renal basic, translational and clinical pathophysiology and research. The number of participants is limited to 24.

Kosten

DAS: Total CHF 7200.-
A reduction of 44.44% applies for academics and physicians.
